Before examining the transcribed laws, it is important to understand the physical condition and tactile nature of the book itself. Below, you can view the front and back covers of the original 1734 artefact.
The book has a height of 25 cm and a width of 21 cm. It is bound in leather, and dragging a finger across the surface of the cover reveals a generally smooth texture, interrupted only by the occasional scratch and dry patch. In contrast, the spine of the book is rough and severely dried out. When handling the artefact, our cotton gloves frequently snagged on its imperfect surface.
